Willow Boulevard/A-Site Operable Unit Construction Update – January 2013 In December 2012, crews completed major construction work associated with the closure of the Willow Boulevard/A-Site Operable Unit (WB/A-Site OU). Most of the work in 2012 was focused on the A-Site Landfill, where construction crews excavated PCB-impacted materials, installed the final cover system, and began restoration activities. Construction crews also completed work at the AMW-3A Area, the area east of Davis Creek, and the Willow Boulevard Landfill. See the map below for locations. Activities completed in 2012 include: A-Site Landfill

Crews have also finished the final steps to demobilize construction equipment and cleanup work zones. In Spring 2013 when weather is appropriate for planting, crews will complete the remainder of the restoration and habitat enhancement work. In addition, Georgia-Pacific will be installing a groundwater monitoring system later this year. Once the wells are in place, additional fencing will be added along the river at A-Site.
